And you know how hard it is to find a Sita on a Saturday!

After months of teasing us with snippets, Nina Paley's Sita Sings the Blues is now available to watch online for free.

I've been wanting to see this since scenes started circulating around the net a while ago, but the full thing only got posted the other day, so you're not behind, you're cutting edge.

Thanks for pointing it out! I am spreading the love.

You midwesterners are lucky. It's going to be playing on the big screen out there soon.

Beyond Borders Film Festival, Rime Foundation (St. Paul, MN), March 25-30, ‘09
Wisconsin Film Festival (Madison, WI), April 2-5, ‘09

Apparently it played SIFF back in May of '08, so if I want to see it on a screen I'll have to haul ass down to the Salem Film Festival (OR), April 17-19, ‘09

I've seen the soundtrack floating around before. If I find it again, I'll host and post.

I do love that although Nina can't sell the soundtrack herself, she has provided a helpful cue sheet for anyone who, for whatever reason, might want to know the title, artist and when each number starts and stops in the film. ;)

I'm still looking for the complete soundtrack, but here's a site with the Annette Hanshaw songs she uses.
