Damn French still have me in a melancholy mood. Guess the song and artist. No, there's no Edith Piaf.

Googlers will be prosecuted.

I just had a conversation with my husband about early Floyd. It was one of those, "If you could only have one song on Obscured by Clouds, which would it be?" questions.

He chose wisely: he chose Childhood's End. I would have also accepted Obscured by Clouds.

on #9, you & me both. I can't figure it out, but I can sort of hear it in my head. :P

As most, I immediately new the Adam Ant. :) For AA, I prolly would have gone with 'Would you put me up on the bookshelf.. with the books and the plants?' ;)

I broke down and googled it, and was very frustrated that I couldn't get it. I was right, I *did* know the song...

Desperate but not serious...

Well, of course. :)

I note that I misspelled 'knew', but I blame it entirely that my entire firm had to disconnect from the network because they had a virus that they apparently couldn't handle. :P The IT tech who knows WTF he's doing (which, alas, means he earns the least) has been on vacation all week, and the system has reacted predictably. ("Leave me? I'll show YOU", says the network.)

Had I my druthers, I would have gone with "An eighteenth century brain in a twenty-first century head", but that wasn't what was bumping around up there at the time.

10: Feeling Gravity's Pull, REM

Yesterday I had various snippets of REM running through my head on loop.

I believe my humor's wearing thin
And change is what I believe in

I'm gonna drive down to this little coffee shop in First Hill that gets H&H flown in every Saturday, grab me a bagel and some coffee, go thrift and bookstore browsing for a while and eventually wander up to the office and put some hours in. Maybe see a movie tonight. Not a terribly exciting plan, but pleasant enough - and with a good bit of road time built in.

Of those remaining unguessed, two are by artists you turned me on to (one of whom is even on my flist), one from a comp tape I made lo these many years past, and one that all the younglings (shush! I have a vested interest in considering them to all still be younglings - leave an old man his illusions!) from my dj years should be ashamed not to know because I played it at least once every two weeks for six years.

Oh, and one that I would expect [info]mvc to get, because although technically Lars is the one who turned me on to the band, I always associate them with Moss. If there was a reason why, it has sadly been lost to time.

Yeah, I'm supposed to know number 9, I think. It reads familiar. Oh well.

And I often have random snippets of REM going through my head. It's like they have a life of their own really. They come, hang out for a bit without overstaying their welcome, and then toddle off on their merry way. And I never know from where they come or to where they go....
